Direct Support Staff:

Program Counselor – As a Program Counselor, you are responsible for meeting the emotional and physical needs of the people we support, being a positive role model, and helping them to meet their personal goals.  You will be assisting them with their daily living skills such as self-care, meals, transportation, and medical needs.  You will also accompany them on a variety of recreational and leisure-time activities.  Flexible hours available 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Jr. Program Counselor (16-17 yr. olds) – As a Junior Program Counselor, you are responsible for meeting the emotional and physical needs of the people we support, being a positive role model, and helping them to meet their personal goals.  You will be assisting them with their daily living skills such as self-care and meals.  You will also accompany them on a variety of recreational and leisure-time activities. Evening and weekend hours available 7 days a week.

Emergency Float – As an Emergency Float, you are responsible for working in any of our homes where a staff person is needed.  Emergency Float staff receive 24 hours notice of their schedule, get one weekend off a month, and are  ACR’s most flexible employees.  As with the Program Counselor position, Emergency Floats are responsible for meeting the emotional and physical needs of the people we support, being a positive role model, and helping them to meet their personal goals. You will be assisting them with their daily living skills such as self-care, meals, transportation, and medical needs.  You will also accompany them on a variety of recreational and leisure-time activities.

Long Term Float – Long Term Floats are similar to the Emergency Floats but receive their schedule the week prior to working.  As with the Program Counselor position, Long Term Floats are responsible for meeting the emotional and physical needs of the people we support, being a positive role model, and helping them to meet their personal goals.  You will be assisting them with their daily living skills such as self-care, meals, transportation, and medical needs.  You will also accompany them on a variety of recreational and leisure-time activities.

Weekend Float – As a Weekend Float, you must be available from Friday to Sunday, work 7 out of 8 weekends, and be willing to do double shifts. As with the Program Counselor position, Weekend Floats are responsible for meeting the emotional and physical needs of the people we support, being a positive role model, and  helping them to meet their personal goals. You will be assisting them with their daily living skills such as self-care, meals, transportation, and medical needs.  You will also accompany them on a variety of recreational and leisure-time activities.

Live-in Residential Supervisor – The Residential Supervisor (RS) is a live-in position that manages and maintains all aspects of the group home.  The RS’s responsibilities include supervising and scheduling  the staff in the home (typically 10-20 people); managing the budget; making and taking  residents to medical and dental appointments; interacting with parents, medical, and county professionals; maintaining the house and grounds; working both direct care and doing administrative work (total of about 40-50 hours per week) and carrying a pager; writing monthly and quarterly reports as needed; making sure staff and the house meet  licensing requirements; and ensuring that all the shifts are covered.

Registered Nurse – As a Registered Nurse, you are responsible for providing health care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other disabilities, and to support their interests and choices so that they may lead fulfilling lives.  Also, you will supervise, train and assist staff regarding resident health issues.  Flexible hours and rotating night and weekend schedule.
